Job summary

PTAC Companies, including PTAC Engineering in Tampa, FL, seeks a Project Engineer with strong precast design experience. You will perform structural design, analysis, and coordination under a Licensed Professional Engineer, collaborating with coordinators, drafting staff, and clients to ensure accurate, timely deliverables.

The role emphasizes standards development, QA, and mentoring Design Engineers, with opportunities to support BIM workflows and project scheduling across multiple projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from ABET-accredited university.
• EIT certification required; PE preferred
• 3–6 years of experience in precast engineering or related field

Responsibilities

• Independently design precast structures and lateral systems.
• Check precast shop/erection drawings for accuracy and compliance.
• Coordinate with precast producers, design teams, and internal departments.
• Develop and train Design Engineers to strengthen team capabilities.
• Aid in creating project engineering schedules and manage design deliverables.
• Prepare and review final submittal packages for client approval.
• Oversee the initial framing model and collaborate with drafting staff.
• Attend all project-related meetings and perform final model reviews.
