Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Project Engineer to back a Capital Project Manager on multiple plant projects. You will coordinate schedules, review drawings, perform field verifications, and support RFQs and bid reviews with vendors and engineering firms.

The role requires ensuring deliverables align with project requirements, coordinating with stakeholders, and maintaining site-specific standards for safe, efficient execution across various capital projects.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a Project Engineer/PM/Engineer role with a project and engineering background.
• Experience in a chemical manufacturing/plant environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the Capital Project Manager across multiple capital projects.
• Maintain project schedules, action items, and deliverables.
• Review engineering drawings and vendor drawings for completeness and alignment with project requirements.
• Perform field walkdowns and field verification to validate drawings and conditions.
• Coordinate with engineering firms, contractors, vendors, operations, and other project stakeholders.
• Research technical specifications and provide information or clarification to engineering firms and contractors.
• Assist with RFQs to engineering firms and vendors and support bid reviews.
• Support the review and comparison of bids and proposals.
• Track vendor and engineering deliverables and follow up on outstanding items.
• Address technical questions during engineering, procurement, and construction phases.
• Support safe and efficient project execution per project requirements and site standards.

Project Engineer supporting a Capital Project Manager across multiple plant projects. They need someone who can take ownership of project coordination while also being technical enough to review drawings/specs, perform field verification, support RFQs and bid reviews, coordinate with engineering firms/vendors, and keep schedules and deliverables moving.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the Capital Project Manager across multiple capital projects.
• Maintain project schedules, action items, deliverables, and other project documentation.
• Review engineering drawings and vendor drawings for completeness and alignment with project requirements.
• Perform field walkdowns and field verification to validate drawings, conditions, and project requirements.
• Coordinate with engineering firms, contractors, vendors, operations, and other project stakeholders.
• Research technical specifications and provide information or clarification to engineering firms and contractors.
• Assist with developing and issuing RFQs (Requests for Quotation) to engineering firms and vendors.
• Support the review and comparison of bids and proposals.
• Track vendor and engineering deliverables and follow up on outstanding items.
• Help address technical questions that arise throughout engineering, procurement, and construction.
• Support safe and efficient project execution in accordance with project requirements and site standards.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• 5 years of experience Project Engineer, Project Manager, Engineer, or something similar with a Project & Engineering Background
• Industry experience: Chemical Manufactures, plant environment
