General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) in Poway, CA seeks a Project Engineer to support the MQ-9B SkyGuardian Global Support Solution team.

The role provides cross-functional engineering support for fielded UAS systems and coordinates with program management to enable pursuits, sustainment plans, and program execution. The candidate must have a strong engineering background, be able to lead technical teams, and obtain/maintain DoD security clearance.

Qualifications

• Four or more years of engineering experience with a bachelor’s degree or two or more years with a master’s degree.

Job SummaryGeneral Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems. We have an exciting opportunity located in Poway, CA for a Project Engineer to support the MQ-9B SkyGuardian Global Support Solution team. The position will provide cross functional engineering support for fielded UAS systems. The position will require close coordination with program management team(s) to facilitate customer pursuits, identify requirements, develop sustainment plans and strategies, and ultimately support program execution for MQ-9B SkyGuardian / SeaGuardian UAS sustainment. With consultative direction, this position is responsible for executing technical objectives as a key member supporting the MQ-9B SkyGuardian Global Support Solution team and coordinating various technical aspects of MQ-9B Sustainment. The position requires interface with international customer(s), foreign vendors, internal program stakeholders, and the USAF FMS program office.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supports operation of engineering systems by evaluating and interpreting needs and problems and develops effective approaches to resolving those issues.
• Troubleshoots, analyzes, and repairs systems in assigned areas by utilizing standard engineering and scientific principles.
• Provides documentation and makes technical presentations as required.
• Coordinates the activities of various technical teams and may direct the activities of less experienced professional staff.
• May represent the organization in providing solutions to technical issues associated with specific projects.
• Maintains strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
• Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

Job Qualifications:

• Typically requires a bachelors degree, masters degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; four or more years of experience with a bachelors degree or two or more years of experience with a masters degree. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
• Must have a complete understanding of engineering concepts, principles, codes, and theory; experience demonstrating a broad application of those concepts; and, expanding knowledge of principles, concepts, theory, and practices in related technical specialties.
• Able to work extended hours as required.
• A Professional Engineering License is desirable.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance is required

• Ability to understand new concepts quickly; apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment; organize, schedule, and coordinate work phases; and, determine the appropriate approach at the task level or, with assistance, at the project level to provide solutions to a range of complex problems.

Job Type: Full-Time Salary

Salary range: 84,000 - 140,625
