LJA Land Development is seeking a Project Engineer to lead site development and permitting for national retail, restaurant, and commercial projects. You will manage projects from due diligence through construction, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver quality facilities.

The role requires 6+ years of civil engineering experience, a PE license, and strong communication skills to build relationships with clients and colleagues.

POSITION OVERVIEW: As a Project Engineer at LJA Land Development, you will be responsible for leading site development and permitting efforts for nationally recognized retail, restaurant, convenience store, and commercial brands. This role offers the opportunity to manage projects from due diligence through construction, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and drive successful developments across multiple jurisdictions nationwide.

A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE:

• Plans, schedules, conducts, or coordinates engineering work involving conventional engineering practices but may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements.
• May work as an Assistant Project Manager or Assistant Project Engineer.
• Supervision of less experienced engineers or technical support personnel is exercised on an assignment basis and is not an ongoing substantial component at this level.
• Exercises judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
• Determines additional information that is needed from internal clients and coordinates them directly with LJA.
• Makes basic decisions regarding alternative procedures when information is not given.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor of Science, Civil Engineering
• Licensed Professional Engineer

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 6+ years of post-graduate experience
• Strong communication skills
• High level of grading and drainage experience.
• Technical Engineer with high level of experience in conceptual site design, stormwater design & regulations.
• Ability to build strong relationships
