Job summary

A water-based environmental remediation firm in the U.S. is seeking a Project Engineer Intern for Summer 2026. Job description

As a Project Engineer Intern in our Environmental Group, you will gain hands‑on experience supporting the planning and execution of projects that improve water quality and restore ecosystems. This is a Summer 2026 internship or 6‑month co‑op opportunity that requires 100% travel to project sites across the United States, where you’ll learn alongside seasoned engineers and environmental professionals.

You’ll be exposed to projects such as:

  • Environmental dredging of contaminated sediments
  • In‑situ capping of waterways
  • Rapid dewatering techniques
  • Wetland and shoreline habitat restoration

What you’ll learn & do:

  • Assist with project administration, scheduling, and documentation.
  • Support contract management, change orders, and reporting.
  • Assist with data collection, surveying, and environmental monitoring.
  • Gain exposure to estimating, cost tracking, and project management software.
  • Learn Brennan’s approach to safety, efficiency, and collaboration.

What we’re looking for:

  • Pursuing a degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering, Construction Management, GIS or related field.
  • Interest in heavy civil/marine construction or hydrographic surveying.
  • Passion for sustainability and restoring waterways.
  • Willingness to travel nationwide and work in the field.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, on computers and other electronic devices.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; must be a self‑starter, highly organized, and creative.
  • Superior time management and organizational capabilities, including the ability to accurately benchmark project length and deliver on deadlines.
