Job summary

Clayco is seeking an Project Engineer Intern who will travel nationwide to support large, design-build projects valued at $30 million and above. You will join a team responsible for advancing projects from concept through closeout with guidance from senior management.

The role emphasizes building client and subcontractor relationships, coordinating with architects and engineers, and managing cost forecasts and budgets while ensuring safety and high standards.

Qualifications

• Must be actively enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited University.
• General knowledge of construction principles/practices required.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with an adaptable and flexible style in working with all types of individuals.
• Experienced dealing with subcontracts, subcontractors and/or self-perform work is a plus.
• Creative and results-oriented, with a strong sense of urgency.
• Successful internships or Project Engineering experience on projects of at least $5 million (design-build preferred) is a plus.
• Solid understanding of the company's Safety-First philosophy and practice.
• Highly entrepreneurial and self-motivated, with the ability to work equally well on own as well as in a team environment.
• Capable to walk the job site, climb ladders, and multi floor scaffolding.
• In this role you will assist senior project management team members in managing construction projects.
• You will be expected to provide guidance and leadership.

Compensation

• Intern Hourly Pay Range: $21.00-$25.00 per hour based on expected college graduation month/year.
