Job summary

Catalyst Construction is seeking a Project Engineer Intern for Summer 2027 in Milwaukee. This role provides hands-on field experience and office exposure for students pursuing a Construction Management degree.

Interns will coordinate subcontractors, assist on site, support project teams with documentation, RFIs, submittals, progress reporting and closeout activities, and gain a realistic view of construction management from start to finish.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule based on project need.
• Reliable transportation.
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Occasionally may travel to sites in inclement weather.

Responsibilities

• Support project management with subcontractor and supplier coordination, file management, document control and progress reporting.
• Work with the Project Superintendents to assist with construction drawings, trade coordination, quality control, issuing RFIs and coordination of submittals.
• Support the Preconstruction Team with subcontractor bidding & follow up calls as needed.
• Assist with project close out activities.
• Assist Project Manager and Project Engineer as needed.
• Attend meetings and trainings as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The Project Engineer Intern position provides relevant field & office experience for students pursuing a degree in Construction Management. Our program provides a realistic view of what it’s like to work in construction through hands-on experience from coordinating subcontractors, to assisting on site – our interns assume a wide variety of responsibilities during their time at Catalyst.

This opening for Summer 2027.
