This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Employees will be working on heavy civil and highway construction sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat, and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The incumbent regularly sits for long periods at a desk in front of a computer screen.
This is a full-time internship for 12 weeks during the summer. This is a nonexempt position.
The role requires some travel between the project site and corporate office.
Working towards a bachelor’s degree in Construction, Engineering, or other relevant fields of study. Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university, taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) before participation in the internship program.
Knowledge of route surveying and scheduling. Strong oral and written communication skills.
Must possess or be able to obtain a valid and appropriate state driver’s license before employment. Must have reliable transportation to and from the assigned project office.
