Job summary

Thompson Engineering is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join its multidisciplinary team in the Southeast. The role leads technical development across civil disciplines, coordinating with clients, project managers, and design teams to deliver robust infrastructure solutions.

The successful candidate will perform design and analysis, mentor junior staff, and contribute to business development. A PE license and 4+ years of consulting experience are preferred for this challenging position.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • PE license required.
  • Minimum 4 years of engineering consulting experience.
  • Experience in Site Civil, Transportation, Water Resources, Hydrology & Hydraulics (H&H), Coastal Engineering, Federal Infrastructure, Municipal Engineering, Land Development.
  • Experience with Civil 3D, OpenRoads Designer, MicroStation, or related software.
  • Strong project coordination and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Position Summary

Thompson Engineering is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our multidisciplinary engineering team. The successful candidate will lead the technical development of projects while collaborating with clients, project managers, and design teams across a variety of civil engineering disciplines. Candidates with experience in site civil, transportation, coastal engineering, hydrology and hydraulics (H&H), water resources, federal, municipal, or other infrastructure markets are encouraged to apply.


Key Responsibilities


  • Develop engineering designs, construction plans, specifications, and technical reports.

  • Lead project design efforts from planning through construction.

  • Perform engineering calculations, quantity estimates, and cost analyses.

  • Coordinate with internal multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
