Job summary

Panelmatic, Inc. is seeking an accountable Project Engineer to oversee electrical engineering for complex control panel projects. You will schedule, plan, resource, and manage technical activities from conception to completion, ensuring accuracy and quality.

You will coordinate with CAD operators, fabrication teams, and suppliers, while verifying drawings, BOMs, and documentation to meet contractual requirements. This role requires hands-on leadership in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (ABET) or 10+ years’ proven experience in the electrical engineering field.
  • 3+ years’ experience in electrical equipment manufacturing.
  • 3+ years’ experience in NEC, UL, IEC, and IEEE.
  • 3+ years’ experience AutoCAD, EPLAN, and electrical design tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must live in the greater Houston area.
  • Ability to pass physical, drug, driving, and background checks.

Responsibilities

Job Summary:

Panelmatic is looking for an accountable Project Engineer to be responsible for all engineering and technical disciplines related to projects. The Project Engineer will schedule, plan, forecast, resource, and manage all the technical activities aiming at assuring project accuracy and quality from conception to completion.

Job Duties:

  • Manage multiple projects from pre-booking to customer final acceptance.
  • Provide consultation on proposal development as required.
  • Participate in the internal kick-off meeting from sales/estimating to the organization.
  • Follow document management processes for project documentation to ensure compliance with business, contractual, and document retention requirements/laws.
  • Manage the scope and deliverables from a technical & engineering aspect.
  • Process customer single-line, schematic, and/or loop drawings.
  • Establish and purchase a Bill of Material to be furnished by PBS.
  • Establish the type of fabrication drawings required and once a CAD operator has been assigned to the project, communicate directly with the operator all necessary requirements and information pertaining to the job
  • Establish the type of assembly, wiring, conduit, and/or tubing drawings required and communicate with the CAD operator all necessary requirements and information pertaining to the project.
  • Obtain formal acceptance from the Customer for all contractual deliverables.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (ABET) Or a minimum of 10 years’ proven experience in the electrical engineering field required
  • Three plus years’ experience in electrical equipment manufacturing required
  • Three plus years’ experience in electrical engineering principles, circuits, and systems required
  • Three plus years’ experience in industry standards and regulations including NEC, UL, IEC, and IEEE required
  • Three plus years’ experience AutoCAD, EPLAN, and electrical design tools required
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills required
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously required
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teams required
  • Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities required
  • Adherence to our core values required
  • Must live in the greater Houston area required
  • Ability to pass physical, drug, driving, and background check required
  • Ability to physically push, pull, and lift 50lbs or more required
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for four-plus hours at a time required
  • Ability to stoop and bend for four-plus hours required

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree
  • Three years’ experience in design or similar engineering role
  • Experience with simulation and analysis software such as SKM or ETAP for electrical systems
  • Knowledge of sustainable and energy-efficient design practices
  • Familiarity with specific industry applications for energy fields, food processing, mining, power plant-substation, data mining, etc.
