Job summary

Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience engineering low‑voltage systems and leading large projects.
  • Advanced proficiency in CAD or similar design tools.
  • Deep technical knowledge of security, access control, fire alarm, AV, and related systems.
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure as it relates to low‑voltage integration.
  • Ability to design, review, and troubleshoot complex system architectures.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering efforts for large enterprise projects within scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Collaborate with project managers and cross‑functional teams to develop execution strategies.
  • Serve as senior technical authority, mentoring staff and guiding design decisions.
  • Facilitate design reviews, ensure documentation accuracy, and enforce quality standards.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders and vendors to align deliverables with goals.
  • Oversee testing, commissioning, and final system validation.

Primary Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Management
  • Lead engineering efforts for large‑scale, complex, or enterprise‑level low‑voltage systems projects, ensuring all technical aspects meet quality, budget, and schedule requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers and cross‑functional teams to develop comprehensive project execution strategies, anticipating risks and addressing complex technical challenges proactively.
  • Serve as the senior technical authority for assigned projects, providing expert guidance, mentorship, and support to project teams and field staff to enhance performance and professional growth.
  • Facilitate technical decision‑making and problem resolution during all project phases, balancing technical feasibility with business objectives.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to align engineering deliverables with overall project goals, ensuring smooth communication and efficient issue escalation.
  • Monitor project progress and intervene when necessary to keep projects on track, ensuring compliance with company standards and client expectations.
Engineering Design & Documentation Oversight
  • Develop, review, and approve complete engineering documentation packages, including drawings, submittals, equipment schedules, and change orders, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and alignment with project goals.
  • Review designs to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and customer requirements, identifying potential issues early and guiding corrective actions.
  • Provide final technical validation for all design documents prior to release, ensuring readiness for procurement, installation, and client submission.
  • Establish and enforce design quality standards, templates, and processes to drive consistency and reduce rework.
  • Oversee the integration of complex systems and technologies into cohesive, functional designs that meet both technical and operational requirements.
Technical Support & Troubleshooting
  • Provide expert‑level technical support during installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting phases to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for complex field issues, collaborating with installation teams, service techs, and project managers to resolve challenges efficiently.
  • Lead root cause analysis for system or integration issues, documenting findings and recommending long‑term solutions.
  • Validate as‑built conditions and ensure updates are accurately reflected in project documentation.
  • Oversee final system testing and commissioning by verifying configurations, inspecting installations, and confirming full functionality.
  • Coordinate with vendors to address product‑related issues affecting installation or performance.
  • Share lessons learned from technical challenges to enhance future design and field execution practices.
Mentorship & Technical Leadership
  • Mentor junior engineers and reviewers by providing design feedback and promoting best practices in documentation and system design.
  • Support skill development through knowledge sharing, coaching, and hands‑on guidance in project execution and standards.
  • Lead informal design reviews and serve as a go‑to resource for engineering tools, processes, and technical problem‑solving.
Basic Qualifications
  • 5+ years’ experience engineering low‑voltage systems, with demonstrated success leading large or complex projects.
  • Advanced proficiency in CAD or similar design tools.
  • Deep technical knowledge of security, access control, fire alarm, AV, and related systems.
  • Strong understanding of networked systems and IT infrastructure as it relates to low‑voltage integration.
  • Ability to design, review, and troubleshoot complex system architectures.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple large‑scale projects simultaneously.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills with a focus on practical and efficient solutions.
