Job summary

SGS Consulting in Austin, TX is seeking a Manufacturing Automation Specialist to support MES operations, troubleshoot process equipment, and drive automation improvements. You will work cross-functionally with manufacturing and quality teams to optimize equipment performance and data integrity.

You will own change requests, contribute to tech transfers, review CAPA and deviation actions, and help revise SOPs to ensure compliant, efficient manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

• Experience with MES and manufacturing automation systems.
• Ability to review CIP/SIP circuits and troubleshoot.
• Experience conducting deviations and CAPA investigations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe operations and complete required training.
• Provide SME support for design and operation of process equipment.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing equipment and control systems including MES.
• Assist tech transfer of new processes to the facility.
• Own and complete change requests for projects.
• Support quality investigations and CAPA actions.
• Review and revise SOPs and specifications related to automation.

Job Responsibilities:

Performs all work safely and meets the requisite training requirementsManufacturing SupportDevelop technical knowledge on manufacturing equipment and process automation systemsManage resolution of equipment breakdowns and quality issues in the suitesProvide SME support to Manufacturing and other departments for the design and operation of process equipment.Conduct troubleshooting and technical analyses on manufacturing equipment and process control systems including PI data analyses, CIP/SIP circuit review, flow path analyses, code review/troubleshooting, etc.Assist with tech transfer of new processes into the facilityComplete change request lot assessments to support lot releaseParticipates in IPT/JPT meetings as MES representativeProjectsPlanning and execution of plant projects involving automation changes and process improvements including lump sum capital projectsExecute test scripts (design, execution, simulation, wet testing)Own change requests and complete change request tasks to support project completionPerform change request assessmentsDeviations / RCAsAssist the Quality department with deviation investigationsParticipate in RCAs as MES representativeAssist with completion of CAPA actionsParticipates in quality risk assessmentsDocumentationReview/revise automation and Manufacturing related SOP’s, Functional Specifications, and work instructions as a result of CAPA, equipment/process changes, error prevention activities, etc.Complete MES review/approval of batch recordsAuthor and review test protocols
