Job summary

Rheem North America in Montgomery, AL seeks a Project Engineer II to manage all aspects of New Product Development projects using the PDP framework, driving cost and quality improvements and leading a project team through planning, execution, and completion.

This role collaborates with cross-functional teams to design, evaluate, and implement engineering solutions, develop schedules and forecasts, and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 3 years of related experience in Engineering and Manufacturing.
• Proven work experience as a Project Engineer or in a similar role.
• Excellent knowledge of design and visualization software.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Familiarity with industry rules, regulations, best practices, and performance standards.
• Ability to work with multiple discipline projects.
• Strong project management and supervision skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering design evaluations to ensure project feasibility and compliance with industry standards.

Job description

Project Engineer II is responsible for managing all aspects of project assignments using the Product Development Process (PDP) as a guide to achieve project objectives for New Product Development projects. Responsible for product maintenance, cost improvement, quality improvement and similar projects. Directs and coordinates a project team in the planning, organization, implementation, and completion of engineering project assignments.

This position will support Rheem North America, based in Montgomery, AL.

HOW TO STAND OUT

• Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Knowledge of gas combustion principles.
• Knowledge of heat pump design and heat exchanger optimization.
• Knowledge of HVAC design principles and vapor compression.
• Knowledge of analysis & system development tools (e.g. ANSYS/Fluent, ANSYS/Mechanical, MATLAB, LabView, Pro/e, EnergyPlus, GT-SUITE, etc.)
