Job summary

Booth & Associates is seeking a Project Engineer I in Summerville, SC to perform routine tasks under supervision and gain experience within our engineering team. You will support substation design efforts, prepare plans, and interact with clients and vendors as needed.

The role emphasizes basic engineering tasks, teamwork, and proficiency with common office tools, with advancement toward more independent assignments as experience grows.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• Zero to two years of applicable experience is required.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development of plans, specifications and inspection reports.
• Assist in preparation of material lists and labor contracts.
• Assist with preparation of substation designs and construction drawings.
• Basic administration of material purchases and construction contracts.
• Provide direction to designers, CAD operators on candidate’s assigned team.
• Small degree of customer and vendor interaction.
• Some proficiency in substation engineering areas such as physical layout design, protection/control design, relay settings programming, field support, substation commissioning, relay testing.
• Performs basic functions of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Must interface well with employees at all levels.
• Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
