Job summary

RTX is seeking a Project Engineer for Collins Aerospace in Troy, Ohio, onsite, to coordinate and execute project plans for the commercial wheel and brake portfolio throughout their full lifecycle.

You will manage budgets, coordinate across engineering, production, and OE customers, and drive tasks to closure while identifying risks and supporting cost optimization for long-term competitiveness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related STEM major obtained by start date.
  • Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

What You Will Do

As a Project Engineer at Collins Aerospace, you will be responsible for coordinating and executing project plans to ensure continued support of the commercial wheel and brake portfolio. The Commercial Project Engineering group is responsible for supporting the commercial wheel and brake portfolio through the full life cycle of the aircraft. Beginning with design and development, through production support, and in-service sustainment, the commercial project engineering team is the main point of contact for coordination with the OE customer.

  • Manage the planning, execution and tracking/reporting of engineering activities including project budgets related to commercial W&B products in a timely manner to meet internal and external customer timelines.
  • Support the Commercial project engineering team in the product development process
  • Coordinate and drive assigned engineering tasks and actions to closure in a timely fashion while providing updates to the wider organization.
  • Identify technical risks, develop mitigation strategies, and drive the mitigations to closure with assistance the supporting technical team.
  • Lead product cost optimization activities across the W&B portfolio with the objective of long term competitive products
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major obtained by start date.

Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
