Job summary

Pepper Construction seeks a Project Engineer in Wisconsin to join our Project Management team and help run projects from start to finish. You will work with a Project Manager and Superintendent, gaining exposure to both field and office tasks, including budgets, submittals and close-outs.

Required is a Bachelor's degree in construction management or engineering and 0-2 years of GC/construction experience, with strong communication, teamwork and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or engineering or related field preferred.
• 0-2 years of experience with a General Contractor or in construction.
• Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Detail oriented; in-person position in Wisconsin.

Responsibilities

• Ensure customer satisfaction by identifying and exceeding client needs.
• Estimate, value engineer and develop project budgets.
• Facilitate the subcontractor bid process.
• Negotiate subcontractor and material buyout; develop and negotiate subcontracts.
• Plan and schedule projects.
• Manage jobs in progress, including subcontractor coordination, conflict resolution, documentation and ensuring quality and safety on every job.
• Manage project costs through ongoing evaluation of labor, material and equipment; forecast and analyze costs, exposures and profits.
• Perform project closeout.
