Job summary

Amrize is seeking a Project Engineer I to lead multiple engineering and system projects aimed at improving plant reliability, operability and cost efficiency. You will work to ensure assets provide value while meeting production goals within budget, with exposure to diverse projects throughout the year.

The role requires a Bachelor's in a technical field and 3–5 years of relevant experience, with familiarity in Primavera, Oracle, AutoCAD and Build-to-Win. Travel to job sites is expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
  • 3–5 years of work experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Primavera, Oracle, AutoCAD and Build-to-Win.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee CAPEX projects, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery.
  • Review project proposals, reports and action plans for completeness.
  • Maintain technical databases and libraries for projects and studies.
  • Prepare engineering studies with state-of-the-art technology concepts.
  • Plan CAPEX justification, feasibility studies, and quotations analysis.
  • Keep current on project management best practices.
  • Provide on-site support and supervise CAPEX implementation.
  • Prepare and review detailed and general arrangement drawings.
  • Coordinate technical management across projects.
  • Ensure compliance with design specs, budgets and quality.
  • Assist Field Engineers with task assignment and issue resolution.
  • Participate in client/contractor meetings and propose solutions.
  • Assist in price analysis for project proposals.
  • Demonstrate commitment to health, safety and environment policies.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Project Engineer is assigned to identifying, developing and implementing engineering and system projects to improve plant condition, operability, reliability, cost, environmental and safety performance. In carrying out the duties of this position, a primary objective is to improve the value of all company assets through increased reliability and lower operating costs while allowing the operation of the equipment to meet production requirements within budget guidelines. Multiple projects are required to be managed at the same time throughout the year.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
  • Practice and promote safety in such a way as including but not limited to; assessing risks before starting tasks, only performing authorized activities, utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Review CAPEX Projects proposals, reports, recommendations and action plan for improvement prior to sending them out to the plants to ensure completeness of the reports.
  • Establish, maintain and update technical database and library for projects and studies conducted in order to share the learnings.
  • Prepare project-engineering studies, in collaboration with the other sections, to provide state of the art technology best practice, long term and cost effective concepts and solutions.
  • Conduct project-planning activities in preparation of CAPEX justification, feasibility studies, and evaluation of supplies’ quotations and the analysis of financial stability of the project.
  • Keep updated on new project management methodologies in order to remain aware of the best available practices in the industry.
  • Provide analytical and physical support in the manufacturing group thru close monitoring and on-site supervision in the implementation of the CAPEX project to ensure that the CAPEX projects are being executed according to the design and scope.
  • Prepare and review necessary drawings such as detailed and general arrangement lay out.
  • Responsible for planning, scheduling, conducting and coordinating the technical management aspects of projects.
  • Ensure operations are in compliance with design and specifications, all construction operations are completed on schedule, within budget and to quality standards.
  • Assist in the supervision of Field Engineers assigned to the project by assigning daily tasks, resolving employee relations/site issues; interpret construction drawings and specifications for trades.
  • Participate in client/contractor meetings to resolve project issues. Propose solutions to help meet deadlines and monitor related job costs.
  • Assist in the preparation of engineering project proposals by providing price analysis.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Education: Bachelor's degree
Field of Study Preferred: Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
Required Work Experience: 3 - 5 years
Required Technical Skills: Primavera, Oracle, Autocad, Build-to-Win
Travel Requirements: Travel to job sites

Additional Requirements:
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
