Job summary

Stratus Team LLC in Houston is seeking a Project Engineer I (Level 3) to take on increasingly complex design tasks, work closely with senior engineers, manage portions of projects independently, and ensure designs meet technical and regulatory requirements.

You will use AutoCAD, Revit, and SolidWorks to create detailed models and construction documents, perform analyses, and collaborate with architects, engineers and contractors to integrate building systems.

Qualifications

  • ABET-accredited engineering degree required.
  • 3–4 years experience in engineering design and project delivery.
  • Experience with complex or large-scale engineering projects preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of engineering designs for complex components of projects, including preparing detailed technical drawings and calculations.
  • Perform engineering analyses, calculations, and simulations to verify that designs meet client, code, and regulatory requirements.
  • Use design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks) to create detailed models, schematics, and construction documents that align with project specifications.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, engineers, and contractors, to ensure the seamless integration of building systems.
  • Conduct research on materials, technologies, and applicable regulations to ensure that designs are compliant with industry standards and best practices.
  • Participate in project management activities, including scheduling, task coordination, and managing deliverables to ensure timely project completion.
  • Attend client and team meetings to present design concepts, provide technical updates, and address project concerns.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress, resolve technical issues on-site, and ensure that design intent is being followed during execution.

The Role
