Job summary

Management Performance Associates in Tampa, FL is hiring a Project Engineer for its heavy civil highway and bridge operations across Florida. The ideal candidate has 5–8 years of civil construction experience and will own engineering and project controls for FDOT projects.

The role blends office and field work; you'll manage schedules in Primavera P6, track costs, coordinate subcontractors, support billing, and ensure document control. Relocation to the Tampa Bay area is welcome.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of civil construction experience in office and field.
• B.S. in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering and Management is a plus.
• Experience managing multiple activities on heavy civil projects.
• Proficiency with Primavera P6, Excel and Word; FDOT project experience is a plus.
• Based in the Tampa Bay area or willing to relocate.

Responsibilities

• Review the contract and specifications in their entirety.
• Support the Project Manager and Superintendent on day-to-day needs.
• Prepare and update the project schedule in Primavera P6.
• Track quantities, costs and forecasting.
• Solicit pricing from subcontractors and vendors, including change orders.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and crews to resolve field conflicts.
• Support monthly billing, cash flow projections and change order processing.
• Run document control for submittals and contract documents.
• Review HeavyJob daily reports for accuracy.
• Keep NPDES permits, SWPPP, inspections and survey data on track.

A heavy civil highway and bridge contractor with work across Florida is hiring a Project Engineer out of its Tampa office. This is a strong opportunity for a Project Engineer or experienced Field Engineer with 5 to 8 years in civil construction who has managed multiple activities at once and wants a real path with a stable, well backed employer. You'll own the engineering and project controls side of heavy civil highway work, much of it FDOT work. Tampa Bay locals are great, and candidates ready to relocate are welcome.

What You'll Be Responsible For

• Review the contract and specifications in their entirety


• Support the Project Manager and Project Superintendent on day to day project needs

What We're Looking For

• B.S. in Civil Engineering, ideally with a Construction Engineering and Management emphasis


• Proficiency with Primavera P6, Excel and Word


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills


• FDOT project experience is a plus
