Job summary

Branch Civil is seeking a Project Engineer to oversee all engineering and technical aspects of our projects, reporting directly to the Project Manager. You will focus on organizing, planning, and ensuring accuracy and quality from start to close.

Responsibilities include budgeting, scheduling, documentation, permit compliance, subcontractor coordination, and maintaining logs for RFIs, change orders, and submittals, while promoting safety and a strong Branch Safety Culture on site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field.
• Master's degree in engineering/Construction and two years of experience preferred.
• Two years of experience in heavy civil projects (NCDOT/large site) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Forecast accurate cost and revenue dollars and quantities.
• Review contract documents, drawings and specifications.
• Assist PM in defining project budget and cost codes.
• Prepare initial budget adjustments for PM review.
• Ensure permits are acquired as required.
• Maintain and update RFI, Change Order, and Submittal Logs.
• Support safety culture and ensure material quality.
• Draft and submit Change Orders and RFIs with PM approval.
• Review end-of-month billings and subcontractor invoices.

Education

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field

Position Summary

Branch is searching for a highly skilled, team-oriented Project Engineer to join our well-established, growing company. The Project Engineer oversees all engineering and technical aspects of the project, with a strong emphasis on organizing and planning, to assure the highest level of accuracy and quality. This position reports directly to the Project Manager and provides support in project safety, documentation, plans and specifications, construction means and methods, scheduling, budgeting, projections, and project closeout.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Measure, report and forecastaccurate cost and revenue dollars and quantities
• Fully reviewcontract documents, drawings and specifications
• AssistPre-Construction Services/Project Manager(PM) in defining project budget and cost codes
• PrepareInitial Budget Adjustments for PM review prior to start of work
• Ensurethe acquisition of permits, through appropriate channels, as required
• Maintainand updateRFI Log, Change Order Log, and Submittal Log
• Maintainand updatethe Materials Book - C25s/Certs/Etc.
• Supportquality control/Ensures approved materials are being used
• Draftand submitChange Orders per PM approval
• Draftand submitRFIs per PM approval
• First level approval of subcontractor invoices for PM final approval

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position which will typically involve 40+ hours a week. Due to the nature of the job, the employee must be available on-call early/late hours to deal with delays, bad weather and emergencies at the job site.
