Job summary

The Fountain Group is seeking a Project Engineer - Facilities and Utilities II for a prominent client in Tempe, AZ. The role oversees electrical, HVAC, utility, backup-power, and building infrastructure projects from planning through turnover in a regulated manufacturing environment.

You will lead design criteria, coordinate contractors/vendors, manage shutdowns and energization events, and ensure reliable operations with minimal production disruption.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Engineering, or related technical discipline or equivalent education/experience.
• 7+ years of experience managing facilities, utilities, electrical, or infrastructure capital projects in industrial/manufacturing environments.
• Experience with projects over $30 million total installed cost.
• Strong knowledge of electrical distribution, HVAC, central utility systems, backup power.

Responsibilities

• Manage electrical, HVAC, utility, backup-power, and facility projects from planning through commissioning and handover.
• Conduct field assessments of conditions and infrastructure.
• Develop design criteria, specs, and work packages.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
• Plan shutdowns, energization, and cutovers with minimal disruption.
• Oversee construction activities, testing, and turnover of systems.
• Maintain project documentation and closeout packages.
• Identify risks and contingency strategies.
