Job summary

TIC is seeking hands-on professionals for field and office engineering roles in our Power market. Based in Texas, Louisiana, or Mississippi, you will support field operations, craft management, safety, QA, and contract administration, with regular relocation as projects demand.

This mid-level opportunity offers exposure to project controls, estimating, and subcontractor coordination across multiple Entergy projects, with relocation opportunities and a path to broader EPC assignments within TIC.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' field experience in electrical, mechanical or piping within construction or industrial projects.
• Ability to travel and relocate as needed.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Working knowledge of computers and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Interpret drawings and specifications for field crews and craft supervision.
• Manage field document control procedures and takeoff quantities.
• Prepare work plans, packages, and layouts; assist in field surveying.
• Ensure quality inspections and manage the quality plan sign-offs.
• Compile daily labor timesheets and compute costs; assist with JHA's.
• Participate in safety reviews, toolbox talks, and safety training.
• Order and schedule material deliveries; plan work and coordinate groups.
• Supervise field operations and assist in subcontractor management.
• Assist estimating with historical data, bid documents, and takeoffs.

Responsibilities

Field Engineering:

• Assist in the interpretation of drawings and specifications for field crews and craft supervision
• Assist in managing the Document Control procedure in the field
• Perform quantity calculations by taking measurements and determining the percentage of completed/installed materials and work
• Assist in the preparation of work plans and work packages
• Assist in field surveying and work layout support including elevation, control points, and compilation of as-built data
• Assure that quality inspections are being done and sign-off documentation is collected/assist in managing the quality plan
• Assist in compiling, processing, and confirming daily labor timesheets and calculating daily costs
• Assist in the preparation of Job Hazard Analysis (JHA’s)
• Participate in job site safety reviews, toolbox meetings, mass safety meetings, and safety training
• Order and schedule material deliveries
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate work groups on the job site
• Supervise field operations
• Assist in managing subcontractors

Office Engineering:

• Perform material takeoffs from drawings, specifications, and other contract documents
• Perform basic engineering calculations and technical drafting to support field operation
• Assist Engineers to gather and prepare data for submittal or transmittal to the customer, vendors, subcontractors, governmental agencies, and internal use
• Assist in the preparation of purchase orders and subcontracts, performing minor solicitations and purchasing as requested
• Assist in scheduling maintenance and performing updates as directed by others
• Assist with Document Control to ensure that only current revisions of documentation is being used
• Assist in the maintenance of basic project recordkeeping and correspondence functions including daily reports, photographs, requests for information (RFIs), and memorandums
• Assist with entering data into the job cost system and participate in reviewing cost reports with jobsite management
• Assist in generating change orders and as-built data to be reviewed by the Project Manager
• Provide field support and supervise subcontractor operations
• Prepare documentation for weekly and monthly reports to management

Estimating:

• Assist in reviewing and analyzing historical data relative to the project, incorporating various productions and costs appropriate in preparation of a bid
• Complete a plan and specification review for an assigned project, assessing the risk areas and bringing them to the attention of the supervisor
• Complete material and quantity takeoffs according to bid documents
