You will guide technical aspects, oversee piping, fire suppression, and mechanical systems, and mentor engineers while coordinating with Sales, Project Management, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing.

This role emphasizes rigorous standards, safety, and quality, with client-facing responsibilities and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 7+ years mechanical engineering and design experience.
• Experience with mechanical, piping, and fire suppression systems.
• Strong knowledge of codes and standards (ASME, NFPA, NACE, OSHA).

Responsibilities

• Lead technical aspects for infrastructure projects from concept to completion.
• Review drawings and specs, assure compliance with standards.
• Coordinate with Sales, Project Management, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing.
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers and support onboarding.

What You’ll Do

• Support engineering leadership and take ownership of critical technical aspects for infrastructure projects.
• Coordinate seamlessly with cross‑functional teams including Sales, Project Management, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing to ensure successful project delivery.
• Lead technical discussions, providing expert guidance and mentorship to engineering team members.
• Contribute to the onboarding and development of new engineers as the team expands.
• Review and approve engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation with meticulous attention to detail.
• Ensure all designs rigorously meet customer requirements, industry standards, safety regulations, and engineering best practices.
• Manage technical designs across a diverse portfolio of projects and clients.
• Develop comprehensive engineering scopes of work, execution plans, and project schedules.
• Create and review essential engineering deliverables, including equipment lists, valve lists, piping layouts, line lists, mechanical equipment data sheets, and perform pipe sizing and stress analysis calculations.
• Prepare technical requisitions for mechanical systems and equipment.
• Support the design of advanced piping and fire protection systems.
• Provide crucial piping load information to structural engineers.
• Serve as a primary technical point of contact for clients, fostering strong relationships.
• Actively participate in design reviews, customer meetings, site visits, and commissioning activities.
• Respond to technical inquiries and provide robust support to construction teams throughout project execution.
• Manage engineering changes and documentation with precision and efficiency.
• Stay abreast of the latest technologies and industry trends, continuously seeking innovative solutions.
• Recommend advancements that enhance reliability, efficiency, cost‑effectiveness, and overall project outcomes.
• Support the selection of optimal coatings, mounting systems, and installation methods for equipment.

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (other engineering disciplines may be considered with relevant experience).
• Minimum 7 years of mechanical engineering and design experience, preferably within large infrastructure, industrial facilities, or similar environments.
• Extensive experience with:
  • Mechanical systems
  • Piping systems
  • Fire suppression systems
  • Construction and commissioning projects
• Profound understanding and practical application of engineering codes, standards, and industry regulations, including but not limited to: AISI, ANSI, ASME (specifically B&PV Section VIII, IX, B31.3), ASTM, AWS, IBC, MFMA, MSS, OSHA, NACE, NFPA, and PFI.
• Proven ability to produce and review complex technical drawings and documentation.
• Proficiency in software such as SolidWorks, Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, BIM 360, and Navisworks.
• Exceptional ability to manage multiple complex projects concurrently.
• Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making capabilities.
• Excellent communication and client‑facing abilities, capable of articulating complex technical information clearly.
• Comfortable and effective in a fast‑paced environment with evolving priorities.
• Meticulous attention to detail and an unwavering commitment to quality.
• Fluent in English (written and verbal).
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Willingness to travel as needed to support project requirements.
