OHM Advisors’ Environmental & Water Resource Group seeks a Project Engineer with background in sewer conveyance design and pipeline rehabilitation to join our Michigan team. You will support planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater projects, with potential to lead as a senior engineer or assistant project manager.

Requirements include 5+ years of civil engineering experience, BSCE, PE license, knowledge of trenchless technologies, and AutoCAD Civil 3D proficiency.

Qualifications

• BSCE required and PE license mandatory.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive civil engineering experience with focus on conveyance systems.
• Strong knowledge of trenchless technologies.
• Experience with design and construction of water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant design software.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Project Engineer and/or Design Manager with ownership for planning, coordination and execution of tasks for small or large projects.
• Prepare contract specifications and drawings.
• Plan, design and construct pipelines (pressure and gravity) and manholes; rehabilitation projects with varying diameters and materials.
• Perform pipe design calculations to determine size, pressure class, trench design and joint selection.
• Provide technical layout and profiles for pipeline design in AutoCAD Civil 3D; identify utility conflicts.
• Coordinate utility investigations and subsurface/geotechnical requirements.
• Support field surveying and site investigations; conduct sewer system evaluation surveys.
• Develop and review technical reports, proposals, contract documents, and data analyses.
• Provide office and field engineering support during construction.

What You Will Contribute to OHM Advisors

OHM Advisors’ Environmental & Water Resource Group is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Engineer with a strong background in sewer conveyance design and pipeline/manhole rehabilitation to join our growing team. As a Project Engineer, you will directly contribute to the planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater infrastructure projects, with a specific focus on sewer pipeline and manhole rehabilitation. This role offers the opportunity to function as a lead engineer and/or assistant project manager on complex sewer rehabilitation challenges.

Your Responsibilities

• Serve as Project Engineer and/or Design Manager with full technical responsibility for planning, coordination, and execution of tasks for small or larger projects.


• Preparation of contract specifications and drawings.


• Planning, design and construction of new pipelines (pressure and gravity) and manholes or rehabilitation projects ranging in diameters and material type including condition assessment and prioritization and rehabilitation of existing pipelines.


• Pipe design calculations to determine pipe size, pressure class, external loads including trench design, pipe joint selection, etc.


• Technical expertise in the layout and profiles of pipeline design in AutoCAD Civil 3D.


• Utility investigations and coordination to determine and resolve potential vertical and horizontal utility conflicts.


• Knowledge of subsurface and geotechnical engineering requirements.


• Field surveying project requirements.


• Sewer system evaluation surveys; inflow/infiltration studies.


• Development and review of technical reports, proposals, contract documents, resources studies, and data analysis.


• Office and field engineering support during construction.


• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) required.


• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.


• NASSCO certification (preferred but not required).


• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in civil engineering, with a focus on conveyance systems.


• Strong understanding of trenchless technologies.


• Experience with the design and construction of water and wastewater infrastructure projects.


• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


• Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant designsoftware.


• Experience with project management principles and practices.
