Our client is a global leader in vehicle design, manufacturing, and innovation, with a rich legacy of engineering excellence and a bold vision for the future of mobility. Working here means joining a team that keeps critical supply chains moving and production lines running — even when the unexpected happens.

Job Overview

We're looking for a driven Project Engineer 4 to join a fast-paced team that tackles critical supply chain and business transfer issues head-on. This role sits at the intersection of Purchasing, Engineering, Supplier Quality, Logistics, and Manufacturing — resolving short-term capacity disruptions caused by equipment failures, natural disasters, and other supplier shortage issues. This is an ideal opportunity for a proactive problem-solver who thrives on cross-functional collaboration, enjoys travel, and wants to make a direct impact on keeping production on track.

What's the Job?

  • Support and lead conference calls related to business transfers and critical supply issues
  • Act as the key liaison between Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing, Logistics, and Suppliers to resolve issues and provide technical support
  • Determine root causes of supplier delivery problems and coordinate timely, effective resolutions
  • Help develop and implement corrective actions for critical issues
  • Identify process improvements and lead-time reduction opportunities to improve supplier delivery performance
  • Participate as a member or resource on product development teams as needed
  • Work closely with the Supplier Risk Management team on financially troubled suppliers
  • Lead and support proactive and predictive strategy initiatives
  • Keep management updated frequently based on issue urgency, and provide executive-level reports as required

What's Needed?

  • 5+ years of relevant post-graduate experience in purchasing, supply chain, program/product management, manufacturing, logistics, or product development
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field (preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience in Automotive Manufacturing Operations (preferred)
  • 3+ years of experience in die casting or machining operations (preferred)
  • Broad understanding of manufacturing processes, including material handling, inventory management, OEE, capacity, and throughput
  • Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills to build relationships and resolve issues with team members and suppliers
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex cases with a high level of autonomy and accountability
  • Ability to present information effectively to various levels and audiences
  • Willingness to travel spontaneously up to 75% domestically/internationally to supplier sites

What's in It for Me?

This is a fantastic opportunity to work at the heart of a major automotive supply chain, gaining exposure to high-impact, high-visibility projects across engineering, manufacturing, and logistics. You'll build strong cross-functional relationships, sharpen your problem-solving and analytical skills in real-time crisis scenarios, and grow your project management experience within a globally respected organization.
