Job summary

Siemens in Wendell, NC is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design medium‑voltage switchgear and develop complete drawings using CAD tools. You will collaborate with project engineers and manufacturing to meet cost and schedule goals, with relocation assistance and a hybrid work option in place.

Ideal candidates have a BS in Electrical Engineering and 5+ years of MV experience, including interpretation of customer specs, one‑line diagrams, and IEEE/ANSI standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• 5+ years of experience designing or configuring electrical power distribution products.
• Ability to interpret customer specifications, one-line diagrams, and electrical schematics.
• Master’s degree in Engineering with focus on power systems is preferred.
• Experience with Siemens switchgear or projects for data centers, semiconductor, utility, or industrial customers is a plus.

The EA Business Unit in Wendell, North Carolina, which is its U.S. headquarters, focuses on photovoltaic inverters, medium-voltage power distribution equipment including packaging and services, and solutions, including automation.

We are looking for an Electrical Engineer.

This position will be based in Wendell, NC. RELOCATION assistance is available. This HYBRID role offers flexibility between in‑office and remote work.

The EA Business Unit of Siemens is seeking a highly motivated Electrical Engineer to join our Medium Voltage (4.16–38 kV) Air Insulated Switchgear (AIS) Project Engineering team.

You’llmake an impact by:

• Analyzing customer requirements to develop detailed electrical designs for medium‑voltage switchgear.
• Creating complete electrical drawing packages (schematics, wiring, layouts, nameplates, one‑lines, and communications) using CAD tools.
• Partnering with project engineers to deliver cost‑effective, on‑time solutions that meet customer expectations.
• Collaborating closely with manufacturing teams to resolve design and production challenges.

You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years experience designing or configuring electrical power distribution products.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Engineering, preferably with a focus on power systems.
• Strong knowledge of medium‑voltage protection and control systems.
• Ability to interpret customer specifications, one‑line diagrams, and electrical schematics.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical or Engineering Base.
• Familiarity with ANSI, IEEE, UL, and NEMA standards for medium‑voltage switchgear.
• Experience with Siemens switchgear and/or projects supporting data center, semiconductor, utility, or industrial customers.
