  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and control system issues to ensure safe and reliable system performance.
  • Coordinate with operations, maintenance, contractors, vendors, and engineering teams during project execution.
  • Review electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, technical specifications, and engineering documentation.
  • Support preventive maintenance, system upgrades, and equipment modifications.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for system failures.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Prepare technical reports and project documentation.

Project Engineer (Rail Systems / Electrical & Controls)

Location: Dulles, VA

Employment Type: Full-time, Diret-hire but project-base for 2-3 years

Salary: $123,400 – $137,800 annually

About The Opportunity

A leading engineering and operations company is seeking a *Project Engineer* to support the operation, maintenance, testing, commissioning, and continuous improvement of advanced rail and automated transportation systems.

This is an excellent opportunity for engineers with experience in *rail signaling, train control, electrical systems, industrial automation, or mission-critical infrastructure* who enjoy solving complex technical problems in the field.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of rail and automated transportation systems
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and control system issues to ensure safe and reliable system performance
  • Coordinate with operations, maintenance, contractors, vendors, and engineering teams during project execution
  • Review electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, technical specifications, and engineering documentation
