The Project Engineer at NewRange Copper Nickel LLC plays a vital role in supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of both capital and sustaining projects within the mining and mineral processing operations. Reporting directly to the Study Manager or a designated company representative, this role involves working closely within the Project Engineering Department to ensure projects align with strategic objectives, safety standards, and operational requirements. The Project Engineer will manage multiple projects through various phases—from conception to completion—while maintaining strict adherence to scope, schedule, budget, and compliance standards. This position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams including operations, processing, maintenance, environmental, safety, procurement, and external engineering consultants to deliver projects efficiently and safely.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, with a minimum of five years of experience in mining, mineral processing, or heavy industrial operations. Proven experience in project management and execution is essential, along with a strong understanding of engineering documentation such as process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, and construction drawings. Knowledge of local building codes, environmental regulations, and safety standards is highly desirable. Certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP) and Professional Engineer (PE) license are considered advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate excellent organizational skills, technical proficiency, and strong communication abilities to effectively coordinate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
