Job summary

William Charles Construction, a MasTec Company, seeks a Project Engineer for Terre Haute, IN. You will assist the Project Manager and Estimator with day-to-day admin for project management and estimating to ensure accurate estimates and on-time, on-budget project delivery.

Responsibilities include coordinating schedules, submittals, POs, change orders, and subcontractor agreements, while enforcing OSHA standards and company safety programs across the project.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred. A combination of education and work experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience in the Construction industry, preferably with concrete work and manufacturing plant projects.

Responsibilities

  • Attend the project turnover meeting (estimating to operations).
  • Assist in generating/maintaining project schedules, cash flow and workload.
  • Attend job meetings and assist in setting up submittals, purchase orders, change orders, and subcontractor agreements.
  • Ensure OSHA compliance and company safety program adherence across all work.
  • Prepare CPM schedules using estimated production data.
  • Assist in preparing QA/QC plans and maintain QA/QC records.

Overview

William Charles Construction, a MasTec Company, is seeking a Project Engineer for project work in Terre Haute, IN.


The Project Engineer will assist the Project Manager and Estimator with day‑to‑day administrative functions associated with Project Management and Estimating to ensure that each estimate is prepared accurately and each project is completed on time and within the estimated budget.

Responsibilities


  • Attend the project turnover meeting (estimating to operations)

  • Assist in generating/maintaining project schedules, both cash flow and work load

  • Attend job meetings

  • Assist in setting up/managing submittals, purchase orders, change orders, and subcontractor agreements

  • Ensure the work, including the work of the subcontractors, is being done in compliance with OSHA standards and company policies

  • Enforce the company safety program

  • Ensure all work is completed according to specifications for the project

  • Assist in completing all project plans.

  • Assist in maintaining all project related reports

  • Assist in preparing project closing documents

  • Review construction documents and complete take offs and assist in obtaining pricing for materials and subcontractors, including DBE subcontractors

  • Assist in preparing CPM schedules using estimated productions

  • Attend pre‑bid meetings

  • Make pre‑bid site investigations

  • Assist in preparing QA/QC plans

  • Maintain and submit QA/QC records in accordance with the QA/QC plans


Qualifications


  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred. A combination of education and work experience will be considered in lieu of a degree

  • Experience in the Construction industry, preferably with concrete work and manufacturing plant projects


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities



  • Previous experience with Procore, Build2Win, and/or P6 a plus

  • Ability to read and understand contracts

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Detail oriented and good organization skills

  • Ability to communicate well with others, both written and orally

  • Proficient in computer applications such as Microsoft Office

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States now and in the future
