Job summary

Fusion Life Sciences is seeking a Project Engineer to provide technical engineering support for complex pharmaceutical projects in Spokane, WA. The role covers capital initiatives, equipment upgrades, process improvements, and compliance initiatives from design through startup and closeout.

You will work with multidisciplinary teams, develop and review P&IDs, URSs, and engineering specifications, and manage vendor relationships, RFQs, and project documentation to ensure on-time, on-budget

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of relevant engineering/project engineering experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline preferred.
  • Strong experience supporting pharmaceutical manufacturing projects.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary engineering and project teams.
  • Strong understanding of GMP and regulated pharmaceutical environments.
  • Experience developing and reviewing P&IDs, URSs, engineering specifications, and project documentation.
  • Experience supporting equipment selection, procurement, installation, commissioning, and startup.

Position Overview

The Project Engineer will provide technical engineering support for complex pharmaceutical projects, including capital initiatives, equipment upgrades, process improvements, compliance initiatives, expansions, and construction activities.

The engineer will work closely with multidisciplinary project teams and provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle, from initial design and equipment selection through execution, commissioning, startup, and project closeout.

  • Provide technical engineering expertise related to pharmaceutical manufacturing systems, equipment, utilities, and processes.

  • Develop and review P&IDs, User Requirements Specifications (URSs), engineering specifications, and other project design documentation.

  • Support equipment design, selection, procurement, installation, commissioning, and startup activities.

  • Collaborate closely with equipment vendors, contractors, engineering firms, and internal stakeholders.

  • Develop detailed technical specifications and Requests for Quotation (RFQs) for engineering firms, contractors, and equipment manufacturers.

  • Support management of project scope, schedule, budget, risks, communications, and project documentation in accordance with established project management standards.

  • Provide technical troubleshooting and engineering support throughout:

    • Design

    • Project execution

    • Equipment installation

    • Commissioning

    • Startup

  • Ensure engineering projects comply with applicable GMP requirements and pharmaceutical regulatory standards.

  • Develop, review, and maintain engineering documentation in accordance with SOPs, quality standards, and accepted engineering practices.

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to cross-functional and multidisciplinary project teams.

  • Collaborate with project managers, manufacturing, quality, validation, facilities, and other engineering functions to ensure successful project execution.

  • Support resolution of technical issues and provide recommendations throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Ensure engineering deliverables are completed accurately and according to project timelines.

Required Qualifications
  • 7+ years of relevant engineering/project engineering experience.

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline preferred.

  • Strong experience supporting pharmaceutical manufacturing projects.

  • Experience working with multidisciplinary engineering and project teams.
