Job summary

MilliporeSigma in the United States is seeking a manufacturing engineer to bridge the Engineering team with Life Science operations. The role focuses on continuous improvement of production processes to boost efficiency, quality, and performance, with hands-on troubleshooting and guidance.

You will support capital projects up to $2MM, coordinate with stakeholders, manage budgets and forecasts, and develop standardized systems to reduce downtime while adopting new technologies and analytics.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other Life Science or Engineering discipline.
  • 3+ years of technical experience.
  • Lean Six Sigma experience preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Bridge Engineering and Life Science teams to drive strategic and tactical projects.
  • Own continuous improvement of production processes for efficiency and quality.
  • Provide hands-on troubleshooting for manufacturing issues.
  • Support Capital Projects up to $2MM using Project Management principles.
  • Develop and execute plans with stakeholders through handoff.
  • Incorporate budgeting, forecasting, and CAPEX vs. OPEX considerations.
  • Implement sustainable solutions to maintain a stable manufacturing environment.
  • Standardize production systems to minimize downtime and maintenance costs.

Your Role:
  • Serve as a bridge between the Engineering team and the Millipore Sigma Life Science business to execute both strategic and immediate tactical projects.
  • Own the continuous improvement of production processes, specifically targeting gains in efficiency, quality, and performance.
  • Provide hands-on, day-to-day troubleshooting and technical guidance for manufacturing issues or process changes.
  • Support execution of Capital Projects upto $2MM, using Project Management principles.
  • Projects include Process/Operational equipment as well as Facilities improvements.
  • Develop a solution/plan for the Stakeholders and execute the plan/schedule through Operational handoff.
  • Understanding of financial tools; budgeting, purchasing, forecasting, Capital vs. Expense.
  • Focus on implementing sustainable solutions that prevent recurrence and ensure a stable manufacturing environment.
  • Manage and execute process improvement projects within stipulated timeframes and budget constraints, ensuring they meet intended design specifications as per the capability of Project Excellence.
  • Conduct comprehensive process analysis and develop solutions for optimal process performance, ensuring integration of new technologies and analytics tools as needed.
  • Develop and implement standardized production systems that facilitate easy maintenance, minimize downtime, and reduce maintenance costs based on the design for maintenance capability.
  • Contribute to the execution of the business strategy and strive for technological advancement by evaluating effective, sustainable, and state-of-the-art solutions in line with applicable safety and quality requirements.
Physical Attributes:
  • Sit, stand, walk, reach above the shoulder, stoop, kneel, twist, or crouch for long periods of time.
  • Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Use close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including hardhat, safety shoes, eye protection, hearing protection, safety harness and protective clothing.
Who You Are:
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other Life Science or Engineering discipline.
  • 3+ years of technical experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Pay Range for this position:

$69,500/yr - $104,200/yr

The offer range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base pay compensation for this position. The actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level of experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors. Position may be eligible for sales or performance-based bonuses.
