Job summary

The Inland Group of Companies is seeking a Project Engineer in Pittsburgh to lead engineering initiatives across mechanical, chemical, and electrical systems. You will plan, coordinate, and monitor projects to safety, on schedule, and within budget while collaborating with senior management and stakeholders.

Prepare detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and reports, manage documentation, and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced, safety-first environment with a hybrid work setup.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Engineering degree or equivalent education and experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of engineering experience involving development of mechanical, chemical, and electrical industrial equipment and systems.
  • Experience with formal project management methodologies is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, execute, and monitor projects from initiation through completion.
  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, milestones, and performance measures.
  • Coordinate project teams, contractors, suppliers, and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.

Working closely with Senior Management and project stakeholders, this role ensures projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The successful candidate will manage multiple project phases including planning, design development, construction, commissioning, and start-up activities while supporting a strong safety-first culture.Location: Pittsburgh, PAEssential Duties and Responsibilities (Including but not limited to):Promote and model a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with company policies, environmental commitments, and applicable regulations.Independently manage moderate to high-complexity projects from scope definition through project closeout.Develop detailed project plans, schedules, resource requirements, budgets, milestones, and performance measures.Coordinate project execution, monitor progress, and adjust plans as needed to achieve project objectives.Manage project documentation, records, reporting processes, and stakeholder communications.Coordinate project teams, contractors, suppliers, and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.Review project quality, evaluate outcomes against established objectives, and implement corrective actions where required.Prepare project, budget, and status reports while maintaining strong working relationships with internal and external partners.Required Skills and Experience:Bachelor of Engineering degree or equivalent education and experience.Minimum 5 years of engineering experience involving the development of mechanical, chemical, and electrical industrial equipment and systems.Proven ability to develop detailed project plans, work breakdown structures (WBS), critical path schedules, and key project milestones.Strong project coordination and execution skills with the ability to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences and stakeholders.Experience preparing reports, presentations, project documentation, and status updates for management teams.Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Direct experience with formal project management methodologies is considered an asset.Additional Info:Full-time salaried hybrid position.Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and be eligible for escorted access to secure airport areas.The Inland Group of Companies is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all applicants and employees without discrimination based on protected grounds under applicable legislation.To Learn more please visit \"join-our-team\"The Inland Group of Companies offers a variety of opportunities to work in the field of aviation.
