Job summary

DPR Construction is seeking a Project Engineer to join our manufacturing team in Orlando, FL. This role focuses on coordinating construction documentation, schedules, and delivery of engineering work to ensure successful project execution.

The ideal candidate has a background in commercial construction and may have manufacturing leadership experience, with strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills to support internal and external teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field.
  • 3+ years of construction experience.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Experience reviewing construction documentation and coordinating teams.

Responsibilities

  • Review and understand construction contract documents.
  • Generate track, log, and review RFIs.
  • Obtain, review, and document project submittals.
  • Review and coordinate shop drawings and spool sheets across internal teams.
  • Schedule, host, and document internal project team meetings.
  • Complete material takeoffs and procurement logs.
  • Support PM in coordination with jobsite install teams.
  • Track vendor/subcontractor schedules and expedite.
  • Gather and submit project closeout documentation.

Job Description

SurePods, part of the DPR Family of Companies, is seeking a motivated Project Engineer to join our manufacturing team. We're searching for someone that has a background in commercial construction, ideally with manufacturing leadership experience. This individual will be responsible for supporting the execution of projects by managing construction documentation, coordinating schedules, and ensuring that all aspects of project engineering are aligned for successful delivery.

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • None.
Duties And Responsibilities
  • Review and understand construction contract documents.
  • Generate track, log, and review RFI’s.
  • Obtain, review, and document project submittals.
  • Review and track project ASI, and similar change documentation.
  • Schedule, host, and document internal project team meetings.
  • Review and coordinate shop drawings and spool sheets across internal teams.
  • Complete material takeoffs and procurement logs.
  • Assist PM in coordination with jobsite install teams.
  • Track vendor/subcontractor schedules and expedite.
  • Coordinate with fabrication shop for production handoffs and RFI’s.
  • Gather and submit project closeout documentation.
  • Support and interact with internal and external team members.
  • Seek opportunities to take on leadership roles in internal teams to grow capacity.
Required Skills And Abilities
  • Excellent listening and strong communication skills.
  • Organized work approach with the ability to adapt and adjust as required to support the project needs.
  • Ability to identify and resolve complex issues.
  • Demonstrated understanding of building processes and systems.
  • Effective participation in team environment.
  • Experienced user of Microsoft Office Suite and BlueBeam.
  • Revit, Autocad, and Procure experience a plus.
  • A strong work ethic and a “can-do” attitude.
Education And Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management and/or 3+ years related construction experience.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Occasional travel to project sites for coordination and planning purposes.
  • Must be able to lift 15+ pounds as needed.
