Job summary

Danone North America is seeking a Project Engineer based at Mt. Crawford, Virginia to lead capital projects across packaging, processing and utility areas. You will drive small to large‑scale initiatives using solid project management and cross‑functional teamwork.

This role focuses on CAPEX approvals, vendor and contractor coordination, and adherence to Danone Engineering Standards in a fast‑paced manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering from accredited college or university.
• 3+ years in project engineering experience; CPG beverage/food manufacturing experience preferred.

The Project Engineer is responsible for managing and coordinating capital projects in the manufacturing facility, including packaging, processing, and utility areas of the facility. This position will lead small, medium, and large-scale projects that will deliver business needs using sound project management, knowledge, and tools.

Key Responsibilities

As a key member of our team, you will play an important role in driving our mission forward. The following responsibilities outline the core expectations and contributions for this position:

• Acts as Engineering point of contact for facility internal customers:

Ensure adherence to plant standards and procedures (including but not limited to GMP, AIB, FDA, IWS, Quality, Safety, Finance, ISO, HOPE, Danone Behaviors, Daily Direction Setting, Driving OE). As a fundamental piece of the organization, your responsibility is to participate and own the implementation and deployment of IWS system and its pillars (Leadership foundation, Daily Direction Setting, Driving OE; Autonomous Maintenance; planned Maintenance; Focused Improvement; Education and Training; Environmental, Health and Safety; Quality; Organization; Supply Network; Early Equipment Management) with the objective of owning your space, owning your performance (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Mobilization, Nature) and owning your continuous improvement.

The salary range for this position is $75,000.00 - $107,000.00 USD. The exact salary offered will depend on several factors, including the candidate’s relevant experience, geographic location, internal equity, and market conditions. Education & Experience:

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering from accredited college or university
• 3+ years in project engineering required, CPG beverage/food manufacturing strongly preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Ability to prepare plans and detailed reports and to maintain records.
• Ability to plan and supervise the work of contractors.
• Solid engineering technical base refined with plant experience
• General knowledge of plant operations
• Exposure to ESL/aseptic and food safety regulations – PMO, 3A and FDA
• Exposure to food and beverage packaging & processing equipment
• Ability to analyze, compare, and recommend engineering proposals
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated problem solving, leadership, and analytical skills
