Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical field is required.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
  • Demonstrates professionalism in representing the company and maintaining customer relationships.
  • Proficient in MS Office; CAD or wire harness software experience preferred.

Job description

We have a prime opportunity for a Project Engineer at the in Lafayette, IN who can work as a team member and support customers directly to provide the best solutions to resolve manufacturing issues.

, a division of Kirby Risk Corporation specializing in electrical wiring, control panel, and mechanical manufacturing.

What You’ll Do As a Project Engineer
In this role, you’ll provide technical assistance to customers in the design, assembly, and manufacturing of new products. Prepare all new products for production using Lean Manufacturing and QS to maintain the highest level of quality and repeatability of the product.

You’ll

  • Communication with organization leadership, internal customers, and external customers
  • Build customer products from prints
  • Analyze customer requirements and provide customers with the best solution in the most cost-effective manner.
  • Create product visual aids and work instructions for the production associates
  • Design and write specifications for pre-production projects as needed
  • Develop customer relationships to:
    • Uncover opportunities for additional projects
    • Collect and report customer comments and complaints
    • Establish and maintain relationships with key buying influences
  • Assist production associates with new builds
What Makes You a Great Fit
  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering or Technical field
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Recognize the importance of developing and maintaining relationships with customers
  • Demonstrate professionalism when representing the company
  • Possess excellent communication, attention to detail, and organizational skills
  • Demonstrates computer skills and aptitude; MS Office; knowledge of CAD or wire harness software
    • Experience with SolidWorks or similar preferred
What To Expect In This Role
  • Primarily onsite, indoors, controlled temperature environment
  • May be required to go to customer site where the environmental conditions will vary
  • Ability to perform essential functions of the role in a work environment with a variation of noise levels including high to moderate noise due to hand tools, machinery, heavy equipment, moving motorized vehicles, alarms, vibration, and general conversations
  • Schedule: 1st Shift
