Job summary

Cochran Kansas City, Missouri is seeking a Civil Project Engineer to support a diverse portfolio of civil projects. The candidate should have an active EIT and be pursuing or have recently achieved a PE license, with 4+ years of relevant experience and proficiency in design, permitting, and construction support.

You will help coordinate projects, communicate with clients, and mentor junior staff while collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver quality results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• EIT certification is required.
• PE license preferred or on track to obtain within 12 months.
• 4+ years of civil engineering experience.
• Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated with ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, design, and delivery of civil engineering projects including site development, roadway improvements, drainage systems, and utilities.
• Prepare design plans, technical specifications, and cost estimates.
• Perform engineering calculations, site layout, grading, and stormwater modeling.
• Support project managers with schedules, budgets, permitting, and agency coordination.
• Conduct site visits and assist with construction observation and documentation.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure project success.
• Mentor junior engineers and support staff as needed.

Cochran's Kansas City, Missouri location, is looking for a Civil Project Engineer to join our team.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer to support a wide range of civil engineering projects. This role is ideal for someone with an EIT certification who is actively pursuing or has recently achieved their Professional Engineer (PE) license. The ideal candidate brings experience in design, permitting, and construction support, and is ready to take on more responsibility in project coordination and client communication.
