Job summary

Fisk Electric, a Tutor Perini Company, is seeking a Project Engineer to join our office in Houston, Texas. This role involves providing technical engineering information to the Project Manager to ensure compliance with plans, codes, and specifications.

You will assist in field problem evaluations, participate in startup and site logistics planning, and help develop quality control and closeout documentation, with a focus on safety, quality, and profitability.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar preferred.
  • 2+ years’ experience with electrical subcontractors.
  • Understanding of Project Specification Sections Division 27 and 28 BISCI knowledge recommended.
  • Knowledge of construction equipment, drawings, specs and materials.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical engineering information to a Project Manager to ensure project compliance with plans, codes, specifications and design instructions.
  • Assist in evaluations and solutions of potential field problems, referring them to Project Management.
  • Perform all essential functions in alignment with Fisk policies for safe, high-quality project completion.
  • Assist with startup checklist and site logistics plan development.
  • Assist with quality control plan development and ongoing execution.
  • Administer RFI process and compile as-built drawings.

DESCRIPTION:
  • Provide technical engineering information to a Project Manager to ensure project compliance with plans, codes, specifications and design instructions.
  • Assist in evaluations and solutions of potential field problems, referring them to Project Management.
  • Perform all essential functions and responsibilities in conjunction with the company’s values and beliefs in alignment with Fisk’s policies so that the construction process is completed to the client’s full satisfaction and at the Company’s expected levels of safety, quality, and profitability.
  • As a Project Engineer at Fisk Electric, reporting to the Project Manager, you will have the opportunity to:
  • Assist with development of startup checklist and site logistics plan
  • Assist with the development of quality control plan and continue
  • Customer Interface
  • Assist with and monitor permit processes
  • Prepare closeout log
  • Participate in owner training and document training sessions
  • Compile as-built drawings
  • Administer RFI process
REQUIREMENTS
  • Highschool Diploma or GED required, Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar is preferred.
  • 2 or more years’ experience working for an electrical subcontractor
  • Understand Project Specification Sections Division 27 and 28 BISCI Knowledge recommended
  • Working knowledge of construction equipment, techniques, drawings, specifications and building materials
  • Ability to perform trigonometric calculations, either manually or with calculator
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
