Job summary

MasTec Civil in Columbia, SC is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to provide technical engineering information to project supervision and crafts, ensuring construction work complies with OSHA regulations, engineering standards, codes and specifications. CSXT ROW or bridge construction background is a plus.

The role includes reviewing contracts, preparing schedules, cost projections, coordinating with subcontractors and supporting project closeout activities.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Construction Engineering and Management.
  • 4+ years' experience in civil construction (office/field).
  • CSXT ROW or bridge construction background is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and safety policies on site.
  • Review project contracts, plans and specifications in full.
  • Prepare project schedules and monthly updates.
  • Prepare quantity reporting, cost projections, and cash flow forecasting.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers and workforce to resolve challenges.

Responsibilities

  • PrepareProjectScheduleandmonthlyupdates
  • Preparequantityreporting,projectcostscashflowprojectionsandforecasting
  • Coordinate withsubcontractors,suppliersandworkforce toresolveprojectchallenges, conflicts, and/ortechnical issues
  • PrepareandsubmitPrimeandSubcontractorChangeOrders
  • Managedocument control toincludesubmittalschedules,contractdocuments, project recorddrawings,etc.
  • Prepare andmaintaintechnicalsubmittallist, NPDES permits, Storm,StormWater Pollution Prevention Plan,andProject ProgressSchedule asrequired
  • Complywithnoticerequirementssuchasinspections,surveystaking, jointmeasurementswithowner and/orengineer,utility locationsand adjustments,testing, claims,etc.
  • Issuecorrespondencetosubcontractorsandvendorswhenrevisedplanand/orspecificationsaffectsproductsorservices
  • Assistwithprojectcloseout
  • Perform additional assignments per the Project Manager's direction
Qualifications
  • B.S.inCivilEngineeringwithemphasisinConstructionEngineeringandManagement
  • 4 or moreyears'experienceinthecivilconstructionfield(office/fieldrole)
  • Experience on CSXT ROW projects is a plus!
