Fessler & Bowman in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Project Engineer to support project teams from hand-off through close-out. You will assist with planning, scheduling, reporting, and control while ensuring compliance with quality standards and applicable laws.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related discipline.
• Ability to read, interpret, and understand drawings.
• Ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, and scheduling.

Responsabilités

• Assist the Project Manager and Field Teams with on-site progress and meetings.
• Maintain document control for core tools (e.g., Procore) including RFIs, submittals, drawings, and specs.
• Track production quantities and escalate concerns to the PM.
• Manage bulletin revisions and coordinate with the PM Team and others.
• Assist in project start-up and close-out processes.
• Handle correspondences with customers or vendors professionally.
• Stay up to date with regulations affecting permitting and safety.
• Collaborate on estimating extra work when necessary.
• Conduct visual job site safety inspections with Safety and PM teams.
• Support department projects as needed.

Summary: The Project Engineer will support Project Teams in the successful completion of construction projects, from the initial hand-off from Estimating through final completion and close-out. PEs are responsible for assisting with the overall project planning and scheduling, reporting, project accounting, and control, while providing technical direction and ensuring compliance with quality standards and applicable laws and regulations.

• Five Key Roles of the Project Engineer:Assisting and collaborating with the Project Manager and Field Teams through frequent job site visits to ensure job progress and participate in job meetings
• Maintain document control for all core tools in Procore and other internal/external software; including but not limited to RFI’s, submittals, drawings, and specs
• Tracking production quantities for projects and elevating concerns to Project Manager in an expedited manner
• Manage all aspects of bulletin revisions- uploading and communicating to the PM Team, review, comment, and address revisions and other document revisions timely
• Assist PM Team with project start up and close out processes
• Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Handle correspondences with customers or vendors in a professional manner
• Staying up to date with regulations that can affect the permitting and safety aspects of a project
• Collaborate on estimating extra work when necessary
• Collaborating with Safety and Project Management Teams to complete visual job site safety inspections
• Assist in department projects as needed
• Communicating and upholding the Company’s commitment to Integrity and Code of Ethics, as well as ensuring the same for the entire team
• Other relevant tasks as assigned
• Education, Experience & Qualifications:A Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or other relevant discipline
• Ability to read, interpret, and understand drawings
• Ability to manage several projects at once
• Creative and results-oriented, with a strong sense of urgency and self-motivation
• Proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, and scheduling
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with an adaptable and flexible style in working with all types of individuals

Travel: Travel to and from job sites and office locations is required for this position. Fessler & Bowman will compensate for travel when applicable.

Work Environment: As a Project Engineer, you will be subject to various work environments. These environments include office and field settings. Employee must be comfortable with sitting for an extended period.
