Job summary

MasTec Civil, LLC is hiring a Project Engineer in Columbia, SC to provide technical engineering support to project supervision and crews, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, codes, and specifications. CSXT ROW or bridge construction background is a plus.

Founded in 1987, MasTec Civil is part of the MasTec Clean Energy & Infrastructure segment and delivers heavy highway projects, bridges, and transportation facilities across the US.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Construction Engineering and Management.
  • 4+ years of experience in civil construction (office/field).
  • Experience on CSXT ROW projects is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure OSHA regulations and company safety policies are followed on site.
  • Review project contracts, plans and specs in their entirety.
  • Prepare project schedules and monthly updates.
  • Prepare quantity reporting, cash flow projections and forecasting.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers and workforce to resolve issues.
  • Prepare and submit Prime and Subcontractor Change Orders.
  • Manage document control (submittals, contracts, drawings).
  • Maintain NPDES permits and project progress schedules as required.
  • Assist with project closeout and other assignments per PM direction.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure that construction crews comply with all OSHA regulations and company safety policies
  • Review Project Contracts, Plans and Specifications in their entirety
  • Prepare Project Schedule and monthly updates
  • Prepare quantity reporting, project costs cash flow projections and forecasting
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers and workforce to resolve project challenges, conflicts, and/or technical issues
  • Prepare and submit Prime and Subcontractor Change Orders
  • Manage document control to include submittal schedules, contract documents, project record drawings, etc.
  • Prepare and maintain technical submittal list, NPDES permits, Storm, Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan, and Project Progress Schedule as required
  • Comply with notice requirements such as inspections, survey staking, joint measurements with owner and/or engineer, utility locations and adjustments, testing, claims, etc.
  • Issue correspondence to subcontractors and vendors when revised plan and/or specifications affects products or services
  • Assist with project closeout
  • Perform additional assignments per the Project Manager's direction
Qualifications
  • B.S. in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Construction Engineering and Management
  • 4 or more years' experience in the civil construction field (office/field role)
  • Experience on CSXT ROW projects is a plus!
