Job summary

MICON Group, Inc. seeks a Project Director of HSE to design, implement and direct environmental, health and safety programs across projects.

You will lead HSE policy alignment with corporate values, interface with management and clients, and drive process improvements while promoting a strong safety culture. Required are 10+ years in HSE within utility construction, relevant safety credentials, and the ability to travel as needed.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of HSE experience in utility construction or related fields.
• Safety credentials such as CHST, CUSP, CSP, COSS, OSHA 500, etc.
• Ability to attract, develop, manage and retain talent.
• Must possess a valid driver license and an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to travel with minimal lead time to support HSE needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct environmental, health and safety programs across projects.
• Interface with senior management, peers and client personnel to align site plans with corporate policies.
• Develop and enforce structured HSE processes, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.

A Project Director of HSE is responsible for working within corporate strategies and policy frameworks to design, implement and direct programs, guidelines, and procedures while providing personal leadership and setting an example to follow all environmental, health and safety work practices and procedures. This position will interface with senior management, peers, subordinates and client personnel to effectively oversee project site HSE plans and align with corporate values, requirements and initiatives. It is essential to possess excellent organizational and written and verbal communication skills. Critical for success are the abilities to provide leadership, structure, enhance customer service and drive innovation and process change across the organization.

What it takes?

• 10+ years of HSE experience in the utility construction industry, compliance/regulation experience, or an equivalent combination of safety and construction experience
• Safety Credentials (i.e., CHST, CUSP, CSP, COSS, OSHA 500, etc.)
• Ability to attract, develop, manage and retain talent
• Must possess a valid driver license for the type(s) of vehicles which may be driven and an acceptable driving record as determined by Michels Review Team
• Ability to travel with minimal lead time in response to HSE needs
