Job summary

KOS International Talent Group in Germany is seeking a lead developer for utility-scale BESS projects, overseeing site screening, techno-economic analysis, and financial modelling to push projects to financial close under German energy regulations.

You will manage grid connection processes with TSOs/DSOs and BNetzA, coordinate EPC/BoP/O&M tendering, liaise with authorities, investors and consultants, and mitigate technical and commercial risks across engineering, finance and legal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Electrical or Energy Engineering.
• 8+ years of renewable energy project development experience in Germany, including 5+ years of utility BESS development.
• Familiar with Germany’s power market policies (EEG, EnWG) and grid codes.
• Proficient in PowerFactory, PSCAD, and standards for large BESS.
• Ability to build financial models and reports.
• Strong communication and coordination skills; able to work under tight deadlines.

• Cooperate with engineering, finance and legal teams, examine third-party engineering documents, and resolve technical and commercial risks of storage projects.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Electrical or Energy Engineering; over 8 years of renewable energy project development experience in Germany, including at least 5 years of utility BESS development experience.
• Familiar with Germany’s power market policies, EEG, EnWG and grid codes; proficient in PowerFactory, PSCAD and relevant standards for large battery energy storage systems.
• Able to build project financial models, conduct contract management and independently compile professional technical and investment reports.
• Skilled in Microsoft Office; excellent communication and coordination skills, meticulous, capable of working under tight deadlines and high work pressure.
