Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Project Development Engineer / Pre Sales Engineer to drive bids and proposals for building automation and controls in the region. You will manage clarifications, cost estimates, site surveys, and supplier quotations while coordinating with clients to ensure technically sound and commercially viable submissions.

You will collaborate with sales, engineering, and suppliers to align technical solutions with commercial assumptions, ensuring timely, compliant proposals

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering or Technology in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or similar.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in building automation, controls, pre-sales, estimation, or retrofit project support.
• Strong technical knowledge in CPO/CPM retrofit offerings.
• Strong technical knowledge in HVAC controls design optimization for retrofit projects.
• Experience preparing bids, RFIs, quotations, and cost estimates for multiple projects or tenders.
• Negotiation skills and vendor management experience.
• Proficiency in MS Office and Visio.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; English fluency.
• Understanding of the UAE controls service and retrofit business.
• Valid UAE driving license.

Role Overview

As a Project Development Engineer / Pre Sales Engineer, you will use your building automation and controls expertise to prepare competitive bids and proposals that meet customer specifications. You will manage technical clarifications, estimate project costs, and support multiple tenders at the same time to help secure new business across the region.

How You Will Do It

Take ownership of each tender with accountability, accuracy, and integrity so every proposal is complete, compliant, and submitted on time. Stay close to the customer, site conditions, and technical scope by asking the right questions early and removing obstacles quickly. Use continuous improvement and candid problem-solving to strengthen estimation accuracy, improve proposal quality, and refine your approach over time. Work as one team with sales, engineering, suppliers, sub-contractors, and clients to align technical solutions and commercial assumptions. Keep the customer outcome in focus by balancing retrofit feasibility, technical performance, pricing, and delivery expectations.

HIRING SALARY RANGE

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $89,400 - $134,250 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) This role offers a competitive Bonus plan that will take into account individual, group, and corporate performance. This position includes a competitive benefits package.
