Job summary

CPH is a multi-disciplinary engineering and architectural firm hiring a Project Designer - Land Development in San Juan, PR. The role supports on-site layout, grading and construction site coordination for large commercial developments under supervision of a licensed Professional Engineer.

Strong CAD skills with AutoCAD and Civil 3D are required, along with detail-oriented teamwork. Your responsibilities include preparing design documents, collaborating with engineers, architects and clients,

Qualifications

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Adobe Suite and drafting techniques is a MUST.
• MS Office proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Experience in Commercial, Retail, Restaurant, and Industrial projects is a plus.
• Detail oriented, quality conscious and reliable; able to work independently or with a team.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate presentation, design, and construction documents using AutoCAD.
• Coordinate with engineers, architects, designers, consultants, and clients.
• Interpret relevant codes, regulations, and client requirements to guide the design process.
• Implement CAD standards, templates, and best practices for consistency.
• Calculate quantities, areas, and other data for land development designs.
• Travel periodically to perform site investigations and observe progress; prepare reports.
• Compile construction plans and submit to agencies with jurisdiction.
• Develop detailed technical drawings and designs; collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
• Ensure designs meet project specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations.

The Project Designer - Land Development plays an essential role in supporting a wide range of projects for a MAJOR commercial brand! This is a very exciting opportunity for an entry to mid-level candidate with a strong design skill set in tools such as AutoCAD and Civil3D. This individual must be detail-oriented and possess a collaborative working approach to join a dynamic team at CPH!

Position Overview

Our Project Designer - Land Development will work in alignment with the supervision of a licensed Professional Engineer to support final delivery of key client deliverables for large commercial developments. The primary focus of this position will involve providing day to day support on site layout, grading, and full construction site coordination/design.

What You'll Do

• Prepare accurate presentation, design, and construction documents using AutoCAD.
• Collaborate and coordinate with the project team, including engineers, architects, designers, consultants, and clients.
• Interpret relevant codes, regulations, and client requirements to guide the design process.
• Implement and utilize established CAD standards, templates, and best practices to ensure consistency and quality.
• Calculate quantities, areas, and other essential data necessary for land development civil engineering designs.
• Travel periodically to perform site investigations, take measurements, and observe construction progress, followed by the preparation of detailed reports and exhibits.
• Assist in compiling construction plans from all disciplines and ensure timely submission to agencies with jurisdiction.
• Focuses on developing detailed technical drawings and designs, calculating material quantities, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.
• Works closely with engineers, architects, and project managers to ensure that all designs meet project specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations.

What You'll Need

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Adobe Suite software’s and drafting techniques are a MUST.
• Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Experience in Commercial, Retail, Restaurant, and Industrial projects is a plus.
• Adaptable and receptive to instruction from others.
