Job summary

CPH, a multi-disciplinary Engineering and Architectural design firm in Ft Myers, FL, seeks a Project Designer to support large commercial developments. You’ll work under a licensed Professional Engineer to deliver on-site layout, grading, and construction coordination using AutoCAD/Civil3D.

The role focuses on developing detailed technical drawings, material quantities, and cross-disciplinary collaboration to meet project specs, safety standards, and schedules. A degree or CAD cert is required.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Adobe Suite software and drafting techniques is a MUST.
• MS Office proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Experience with Commercial, Retail, Restaurant, and Industrial projects is a plus.
• Associate degree or CAD certificate required.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

We are actively seeking to hire the following position:

• Project Designer
• Location: Ft Myers, FL

The Project Designer supports a wide range of duties from concept to final delivery with a focus on deliverables for new commercial projects in collaboration with our dynamic team and leadership. This role focuses on developing detailed technical drawings and designs, calculating material quantities, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams. The Designer works closely with engineers, architects, and project managers to ensure that all designs meet project specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations.

Position Overview

Our Project Designer will work in alignment with the supervision of a licensed Professional Engineer to support final delivery of key client deliverables for large commercial developments utilizing primary software tools like AutoCAD/Civil3D. The primary focus of this position will involve providing day to day support on site layout, grading, and full construction site coordination/design.

What You'll Be Doing

Primary Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate presentation, design, and construction documents using AutoCAD.
• Collaborate and coordinate with the project team, including engineers, architects, designers, consultants, and clients.
• Interpret relevant codes, regulations, and client requirements to guide the design process.
• Implement and utilize established CAD standards, templates, and best practices to ensure consistency and quality.
• Calculate quantities, areas, and other essential data necessary for land development civil engineering designs.
• Travel periodically to perform site investigations, take measurements, and observe construction progress, followed by the preparation of detailed reports and exhibits.
• Assist in compiling construction plans from all disciplines and ensure timely submission to agencies with jurisdiction.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need

Position Requirements

• Associate’s Degree or Computer - Aided Design Certificate
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Adobe Suite software’s and drafting techniques are a MUST.
• Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Experience in Commercial, Retail, Restaurant, and Industrial projects is a plus.
• Adaptable and receptive to instruction from others.
• Comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively with a team
• Excellent oral, written and organizational skills.
• Flexibility in work schedule to accommodate project deadlines.
• Detail oriented, quality conscious, reliable and self-motivated.
• Valid state-issued driver's license with a clean driving record
