Job summary

Terabase Energy seeks an experienced project engineer to design mechanical, electrical, civil, and structural components for large-scale solar arrays. You will collaborate with project managers and designers to define design bases, produce CAD documents, and manage BOMs for multiple projects.

The role requires hands-on CAD experience, familiarity with codes, and the ability to optimize designs within budget and schedule constraints. Remote flexibility is offered as part of the benefits package.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or architecture is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of project engineering experience in design/build, EPC or utility electricity generation.
  • Experience with CAD documents and project drawings is required.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed mechanical, electrical, civil, and structural designs for solar arrays.
  • Coordinate with project managers and team members to define design basis and goals.
  • Create and maintain design packages and Bills of Materials (BOM).
  • Attend project meetings, develop reports, and track design deliverables.

We work alongside project developers, owners, and engineering & construction firms to support the design, optimization, and construction of huge solar projects around the world. Our team is a blend of solar-industry veterans and newbies, thought-leaders, dreamers, software, electrical and mechanical engineers, coders, product managers, project managers, and sales and marketing professionals. We are based in Northern California, with several other offices in the United States and around the world.

Responsibilities
  • Follow standards and goals for the engineering department

  • Assistin documenting and developing industry best practices,standardsand guidelines

  • Attend project meetings, develop reports and status of design deliverables

  • Prepares detailed mechanical, electrical, civil,and structural designs for solar arrays

  • Coordinates with Project Managers, and other project participants to define project design basis and project goals

  • Uses understanding ofsystem performance,constructionlogistics,materialand labor costs tooptimizedesigns

  • Responsible for creating andmaintainingdesign packages

  • Adopts necessary document control measures to manage internal and external design documentation

  • Creates Bills of Materials for projects

  • Holds design review meetings with internal and external parties as needed tomaintainproper QC/QA on their projects

  • Assistsin development of departmental processes and best practices for the team

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or architecture

  • Minimum of3years project engineering experience in the design/build, EPC or utility electricity generation field producing technical CAD documents

  • Strong AutoCAD skills, SolidWorks is a plus

  • Working knowledge of electrical and civil design,materialsand methods of installation

  • Strong familiarity with construction and electrical codes

  • Experience in the solar PV industry or other power generation sectors, and experience creating utility scale permitting and construction documents

  • SCADA design experience

Compensation And Benefits

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Range: $85,000 - $105,000 (DOE). Within each posted range, individual pay is determined (and may be greater or higher), dependent on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
