Akumen is seeking an organized, detail-oriented Project Coordinator to support the planning, execution, and administration of federal program activities. The Project Coordinator will work closely with project leadership, technical teams, customers, and corporate stakeholders to track deliverables, coordinate schedules, maintain documentation, and support effective communication across the program.
Coordinate project schedules, meetings, action items, deliverables, and administrative activities across multiple workstreams.
Maintain project documentation, including meeting minutes, status reports, project plans, risk and issue logs, decision records, and standard operating procedures.
Track project milestones, dependencies, deadlines, and assigned actions, escalating potential delays or risks to project leadership.
Support the preparation of customer briefings, presentations, reports, and other contract-required deliverables.
Facilitate communication and information sharing among project leadership, technical teams, customers, subcontractors, and corporate stakeholders.
Assist with resource coordination, onboarding activities, access requests, training schedules, and other program-support requirements.
Help ensure project activities and documentation comply with contract requirements, established processes, and organizational quality standards.
Two or more years of experience providing project coordination, program support, or administrative support in a professional environment.
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, project management, information technology, or a related field; equivalent directly related professional experience may be substituted for a degree.
Demonstrated ability to manage schedules, priorities, action items, documentation, and competing deadlines with strong attention to detail.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with customers, project teams, and organizational leadership.
Experience supporting federal government programs or a government contracting organization.
Familiarity with project management tools such as Microsoft Planner, Jira, Smartsheet, or Microsoft Project.
Experience preparing project status reports, executive briefings, meeting materials, and contract deliverables.
Knowledge of Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or other project management methodologies.
Project management certification or training, such as CAPM, PMP coursework, Certified ScrumMaster, or an equivalent credential.
