Job summary

ATS Industrial Automation is seeking a Project Coordinator to work with customers, project management and manufacturing teams to drive project scoping, planning and execution. You will coordinate schedules, resource forecasts and design clarifications to ensure work is completed on time and within budget.

The role requires collaboration across engineering, manufacturing and procurement, with responsibility for meetings, design reviews and documentation.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree in Engineering or related trade preferred.
• Minimum of three years in factory automation or manufacturing with team or project leadership preferred.
• Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, controls and electrical devices preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain schedules and resource forecasts.
• Coordinate and drive project scoping, planning, execution and close out.
• Clarify design and specification requirements and arrange changes.
• Prepare specifications, bid packages, evaluate tenders and purchasing recommendations.
• Lead meetings with internal and external customers.
• Conduct design reviews and team meetings as required.
• Review labor estimates, schedules, and project oversight plans; gather stakeholder input.
• Communicate schedule updates to Engineering Managers and Project Manager.
• Ensure compliance with engineering, quality assurance and project management procedures.
• Organize documentation on supervising projects.
• Review RFPs and participate in proposal preparation.
• Ensure completion of project milestones and maintain tracking systems.
• Escalate blocking points as needed.

ATS provides world-leading automation tooling to the nuclear energy sector for new reactor builds, refurbishment, operations and maintenance.

The role of the Project Coordinator is to work with the customer, project management, and manufacturing teams to provide project and technical support. Major responsibilities include coordinating, facilitating and driving project scoping, planning and execution to ensure work is completed to the required quality standards on schedule and on budget.

• Preparation and maintenance of schedules and resource forecasting.
• Coordinating, facilitating and driving project scoping, planning, execution, and close out.
• Coordinate the clarification of design and specification requirements and arrange for necessary changes.
• Coordinate and participate in the preparation of specifications, bid packages, evaluation of tenders, and purchasing recommendations.
• Arrange and lead meetings to coordinate the requirements of internal and external customers.
• Lead design reviews and team meetings as required.
• Review labor estimates, schedules, execution plans, inspection and test plans and project oversight plans. Gather input from stakeholder departments and agencies to ensure project requirements are captured and detailed in the project documents.
• Responsible for communicating schedule update and progress on design tasks to the Engineering Managers and the Project Manager.
• Review and maintain awareness of all corporate and local procedures pertinent to engineering, quality assurance and project management. Maintain process compliance during project execution and advise supervisor if compliance cannot be achieved.
• Organize documentation, including quotes, correspondence, requisitions, drawings, schedules, etc. on projects you are supervising.
• Review requests for proposal documents and participate in the preparation of proposal.
• Ensure completion of project milestones.
• Maintain project tracking system.
• Ensure adherence to DVM process.
• Ensure escalation and closure of blocking points.

Job Specifications

• The employee may be required to stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to the floor.
• Exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or exert up to 10 pounds of force frequently.
• Visual Acuity – Normal requirements for reading written instructions and computer screens
• Hearing Ability – Normal requirements for understanding verbal instructions.

Qualifications

• A post-secondary degree or diploma in Engineering, or alternately a trade certificate in a related filed is preferred.
• A minimum of three years of experience in factory automation or manufacturing environment, including experience leading teams or projects is preferred.
• A working knowledge of automation principles including pneumatics, hydraulics, controls, and electrical devices is preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft software tools including Word, Excel and Power Point etc.
