Job summary

HNTB Corporation is seeking a qualified professional to support PMIS and BI solutions for infrastructure programs in Charlotte, NC. The role includes configuring PMIS platforms, building dashboards and reports, and ensuring data governance and adoption across project teams.

The ideal candidate will have experience with PMIS tools like e-Builder, Primavera Unifier, Procore, Kahua, and proficiency in Power BI/Tableau, plus strong SQL and data warehousing knowledge.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Information Technology or Business and 5 years related experience, or 9 years IT business process analysis or project controls experience.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts requirements gathering and configuration work sessions.
  • Documents results of discussions regarding project requirements and procedures as related to their application and use within project management tools.
  • Drafts project procedures based on discussions with project team, documented requirements, and contractual documents.
  • Supports cross-functional teams in developing project procedures and/or implementing procedures within project management system(s).
  • Develops training documents for system administrators and project personnel.
  • Trains project team members and system administrators.
  • Recommends and/or assists in selection of PMCS technology solutions to support requirements.
  • Supports PMCS configuration sessions or other function-specific tools to support project requirements.
  • May provide ongoing support to project team for configuration, adjustment, and reporting from PMCS systems on moderate to complex engagements.
  • Reviews procedures and systems implementation across project to drive consistency between procedures and system use.
  • Leads technology support team on moderate engagements.

This opportunity entails supporting the implementation, configuration, integration, and optimization of Project Management Information Systems (PMIS) and Business Intelligence (BI) solutions for infrastructure and capital programs. The successful candidate will work with project teams, clients, and stakeholders to understand business processes, workflows, reporting objectives, and data requirements, translating those needs into effective system configurations, data integrations, dashboards, reports, and analytics solutions. Responsibilities include configuring PMIS platforms to support project controls, cost management, schedule tracking, change management, document control, and workflow automation, while developing scalable reporting solutions using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, data warehouses, and other analytics platforms. This role also includes maintaining data governance standards, optimizing data workflows, supporting system adoption, developing training materials, and training end users. What You’ll Do:
  • Conducts requirements gathering and configuration work sessions.
  • Documents results of discussions regarding project requirements and procedures as related to their application and use within project management tools.

  • Supports the cross‑functional teams in developing project procedures and/or implementing procedures within project management system(s).
  • Reviews or builds workflow diagrams to graphically represent business processes and procedures.
  • Develops training documents for system administrators and project personnel.
  • Trains project team members and system administrators.
  • Recommends and / or assists project team in selection of appropriate project management control system (PMCS) technology solutions to support requirements of a program/project.
  • Supports PMCS configuration sessions or other function‑specific tools to support project requirements.
  • May provide ongoing support to project team for configuration, adjustment, and reporting from PMCS systems on moderate to complex engagements.
  • Reviews procedures and systems implementation across project to drive consistency between procedures and system use.
  • Leads technology support team on moderate engagements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Need:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Information Technology or Business and 5 years related experience, or In lieu of education, 9 years IT business process analysis, quality management system development, and/or project controls experience

What You'll Bring:
  • Experience implementing, configuring, and supporting PMIS platforms such as Trimble Unity Construct (e-Builder), Primavera Unifier, Procore, Kahua, or similar systems.
  • Experience developing dashboards, reports, and analytics solutions using Power BI, Tableau, Oracle BI, or similar business intelligence tools.
  • Strong understanding of data integration, SQL, ETL processes, data modeling, and data warehousing concepts.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into system configurations, workflows, dashboards, and reporting solutions that support project and program delivery.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills, including experience training users, supporting system adoption, and collaborating with business and technical stakeholders.
What We Prefer:
  • Experience supporting capital programs within construction, infrastructure, aviation, transportation, project controls, or program management environments.
  • Knowledge of project controls practices, including cost management, scheduling, forecasting, change management, and performance reporting.
  • Experience with PMIS implementations, system integrations, data migrations, and business process improvement initiatives.
  • Familiarity with enterprise reporting environments, data governance practices, and cloud‑based data platforms.
  • Professional certifications such as CCM, PMP, PMI-PBA, Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst Associate, or similar credentials.
