Job summary

Y-12 National Security Complex invites a Project Controls Student Intern for a 10–12 week summer program in Oak Ridge, TN. You will tackle a summer project in project controls, develop data-driven insights, and communicate findings to leadership while collaborating across teams.

The program runs May 24, 2027 to July 29, 2027 with meaningful assignments, career development workshops and competitive pay for your discipline and class status. U.S. citizenship is required.

  • Enrolled as a rising junior pursuing a degree in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, or a similar discipline.
  • GPA of 2.8 or above.
  • U.S. citizenship.

The Internship Program is a 10 - 12 week program that offers challenging assignments, projects and career development workshops to enhance your professional growth. You will also earn a competitive salary based on your discipline and academic class status. The 2027 intern program is scheduled to start on May 24, 2027 and conclude on July 29, 2027.

The internship position will remain open until all candidates have been identified.

Minimum Job Requirements
  • To be considered for this intern position, you must be enrolled as a rising junior (having completed your sophomore year in college) pursuing a degree in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, or a similar discipline.
  • Have an overall GPA (grade point average) of 2.8 or above.
  • Be a United States Citizen.

Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.

Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP). If HRP is required, candidate must complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph, pursuant to 10CFR 709. Medical requirements may apply.
